The history of office machines

Office machines

The first mass-produced typewriters – at the end of the 19th century – were the products of the American Yost & Remington arms factory. The development of the typewriter came to an end with the large-scale appearance of computers. A separate chapter in the history of office machines is the appearance of the telegraph and teleprinter – on display at the exhibition – which were able to transmit messages to remote places. For the growing amount of calculation tasks, the abacus, the slide-rule, and the mechanical calculator provided solutions.
