The men’s upper coat is made of blue cloth. Its lapels, lower and upper large pockets and wide handcuffs are decorated with velvet appliquéd trimming. It is richly decorated with silver buttons. There is a double-row of metal buttons on the front.

Costume from Szék

Region: Szék
The rékli is made of wine-red cloth and decorated with black velvet. A wine-red, accordion-pleated cloth skirt and an accordion-pleated cotton cloth apron that has black chequers on a wine-red basis complete the costume.

Girl’s costume from Válaszút

Provincialism: Mezőség
Region: Válaszút
The hair is tied into one single braid. The neck and the sleeves of the cotton linen blouse are frilled, and there is a vest above it that is made of striped satin and edged with black velvet. The skirt has velvet dots and is gathered at the waistline with velvet trimmings at the bottom and with blue ribbon décor. The apron is made of embroidered linen with white point lace at the bottom.

Sekler Lad’s costume from Csíkszentkirály

Provincialism: Székely
Region: Csíkszentkirály
A felt hat is on the head. The shirt is fine linen, whilst the vest is made of black cloth. The székely cloth trousers are decorated with “knitting” and have two pockets. The boots are slightly pleated at the attachment and have boot-legs ending in the shape of a heart. They are the so-called buttoned boots.

Man’s jacket from Györgyfalva

Provincialism: Kalotaszeg
Region: Györgyfalva

The upper garment is made of black cloth. There is button décor on the lapels with braiding composed of five braided buttons on the front. There is also braiding on the long sleeves. There are two flapped pockets on the waistline and a breast welt pocket on the left side.

The rékli is made of cotton cloth and decked out with black velvet and colored décor buttons. The skirt is made of wine-red velvet; it is accordion-pleated and decorated with black velvet in rows at the bottom.

Costume from Györgyfalva

Provincialism: Kalotaszeg
Region: Györgyfalva

The blouse is made of fine linen and the cuffs of its sleeves are pleated. The sleeves are perpendicularly embroidered with red yarn, as are the cuffs, the neck line and the shoulder section. There is a vest made of velvet and decorated with embroidery and appliquéd trimming worn over the blouse. Worn over it, there is a double-knit, ribboned apron made of cotton cloth and decorated with sewn-down décor. The accordion-pleated skirt is made of black cotton cloth.

Costume from Gyimesfelsőlok

Region: Gyimesfelsőlok
The men’s plain shirt is made of cotton linen. Its neck and cuffs can be closed with a string. The vest is made of black velvet and its lining is red leather. The small collar is edged with triangle shapes; the pockets placed at the hip line are cut arched and braided. There is Austrian knot braiding on the full front of it, and also braiding stylized as pine trees.

Sekler Woman’s festive costume from Csíkszentkirály

Region: Csíkszentkirály
A Ruva shawl is tied ceremoniously on the head. The blouse is made of white linen; it has a collar with szolokma frill and with stikolás on the sleeves. There is a black velvet coat, a lájbi, worn over it it. The skirt has a so-called gathered tászli; it is produced with homemade, woven, striped material, and there is a fine white linen apron with striped edging before it which has slingolt embroidery on its two corners; its full surface is laid in one direction. Csík-style pleated boots are on the feet.

Man’s costume from Makfalva

Region: Makfalva
A black lambskin cap is on the head. The costume is composed of a linen shirt, a coat, the so-called zeke – made of brown cloth and richly decorated with braiding and brown cloth appliquéd trimming – and ványolt cloth trousers made of white wool and black buttoned boots.
